Program Overview:

As life science companies grow—whether through scale-up, commercialization, or restructuring—HR teams are often tasked with making sense of shifting roles, leveling inconsistencies, and undefined career paths. But how do you know when it's time to put structure in place? And how do you design something that won’t slow you down later?

This session will explore the value of building a clear and scalable job structure—not just for compensation and titles, but for talent mobility, clarity, and business alignment.

We’ll break down what a strong job structure looks like, how to create one that evolves with your organization, and how different HR functions—from recruiting to L&D to HRBPs—can use it as a strategic tool.

In the first 30 minutes, you’ll learn:

  • Why structure matters: how it drives clarity, fairness, and alignment as companies grow
  • Signs your organization is ready for a more defined job framework
  • Building paths for technical and management growth that make sense in biotech
  • The role of leveling guides and skill definitions in supporting equity and development
  • Tips for keeping your structure relevant as roles shift and evolve

Then, in small table groups, we’ll tackle real-world topics like:

  • How do you know it’s time to build (or fix) your job structure?
  • What have you learned about leveling and titling—especially across functions?
  • How are you using structure to support onboarding, promotion, or internal mobility?
  • What role do managers play—and how do you get their buy-in?
  • Who maintains the structure over time, and how do you make it flexible but consistent?

This session is ideal for anyone involved in Compensation, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partnering, Learning & Development, and Org Development—at any level. Whether you're designing structure from scratch, updating a legacy system, or figuring out how to align roles across functions, you’ll leave with actionable ideas and peer-tested insights.
